French Country Romance Comes to Life
When we chose the gazebo at Heritage Hill as the setting for this shoot, we envisioned it overflowing with fresh, romantic blooms. To bring that vision to life, we partnered with the team from The Stock Peddler in Shawano, known for their artistry with texture and color. Their team perfectly captured the charm of the French countryside with lush hydrangeas arranged in woven hyacinth baskets and soft layers of roses, ranunculus, and delphinium. The result is a look that feels effortlessly elegant, timeless, and full of natural beauty.
We caught up with the floral design team to learn more about their inspiration and the details that brought this French Country vision to life.

How and why did you make the floral choices for this shoot?
We choose the florals to reflect the soft, romantic feel of the French Country aesthetic while adding depth and texture throughout. Blooms like roses, ranunculus, hydrangea, delphinium, larkspur, and thistle were selected for their complementary shapes and tones, creating an elegant look. Each flower brought something unique – ranunculus for its delicate layers, thistle for a touch of contrast, and hydrangea for fullness and softness. Our goal was to create a feeling of effortless beauty, as if the flowers had just been gathered from a countryside garden.
Any favorite floral detail from the shoot?
One of our favorite floral details from the shoot was the hyacinth baskets overflowing with blooms. They added a beautiful mix of texture and warmth while perfectly capturing the rustic elegance of the French Country style. Filled with a soft blend of roses, delphinium, and hydrangea, the baskets felt both curated and naturally abundant. They became standout accents that added charm to the setting.
Were there any unusual flowers or greenery you were excited to incorporate?
We were especially excited to incorporate ranunculus and plumosa fern into the arrangements. Ranunculus brought a soft, layered delicacy that felt both romantic and timeless. While the plumosa fern above the staircase added an airy, whimsical texture that complemented the overall design.

Our decorative pieces were thoughtfully chosen to create a mood that felt romantic, natural, and timeless. The floral selection, each added unique texture and movement, blending soft elegance with a touch of wild beauty. Baskets filled with blooms grounded the arrangements with rustic charm and enhanced beauty. Together with the decor elements, the overall effect created a heartfelt atmosphere that elevates both styled shoots and real weddings alike.
Are there any trends you see emerging in weddings right now that this shoot reflects?
This shoot reflects several emerging wedding trends we’re seeing right now, especially the move toward more natural, garden-inspired florals. The use of soft, romantic blooms in loose, organic arrangements creates effortless elegance. It especially captures the upcoming French country style. Capturing the soft blue and white florals, along with the details of the baskets, linens, and decor, really created a showstopping atmosphere.
Do you have a favorite element or detail from the shoot that couples might want to consider for their own wedding day?
One of our favorite elements from the shoot was the baskets lining the staircase of the gazebo. Each basket overflowed with soft, romantic blooms, creating a stunning focal point that felt both effortless and elegant. It added a layered, textured touch that beautifully framed the gazebo. The added detail of the baskets would be perfect for any wedding!
Any secrets for getting that “styled shoot” look at a real wedding?
One secret to achieving that “styled shoot” look at a real wedding is focusing on thoughtful details that create visual impact without overwhelming the space. Like using textures, the same color palette, and statement floral pieces. Incorporating elements such as the hyacinth baskets filled with blooms can elevate the overall aesthetic while still feeling natural and personal.
