How They Met
Kenzie and Dakota met in preschool and grew up together, dating off and on until they went to college. Though they then went their separate ways, they remained friends. During this time, Kenzie had a daughter from another relationship. After college, the two reconnected and Dakota welcomed Kenzie and her daughter into his life with open arms.
How They Got Engaged
Dakota asked Kenzie to marry him while the two were on a walk in Kaukauna. He had a very sentimental speech prepared in which he told Kenzie that it was finally time for them to have their “Hallmark Movie” ending. Afterwards the two celebrated at their favorite restaurant.

What was your favorite design element?
Kenzie’s daughter, Annabelle drew a picture for each centerpiece to make it more personal to the bride and groom. Their venue didn’t have napkins in their main color of dusty blue so they went with sage green and Kenzie says, “it really made the room POP!”
Was there anything unique about your rehearsal dinner?
The rehearsal dinner was held at and catered by Tundra Lodge. Since the rehearsal was held on the same day as a Packers game, the couple decided to have a Packers’ themed rehearsal dinner. Following the rehearsal, they had a taco bar and everyone watched the game together.

How many dresses did you try on?
Kenzie picked out a gown almost immediately after getting engaged but as time went on, she began to have second thoughts and felt like there was just something missing from her gown. So, Kenzie decided to go looking for a new dress but struggled to find anything. Before throwing in the towel, she decided to make one last stop at David’s Bridal. Kenzie says that she knew she had found her dress because when she put it on, she never wanted to take it off. “I felt beautiful and all my insecurities about my body were out the door. I couldn’t wait to show my husband the dress, it was truly perfect.”

Additionally, the couple was married by a friend whom they had known ever since elementary school and to whom they both had stayed close to. Rather than lighting a Unity Candle, the couple had a sand pouring ceremony in which Kenzie’s daughter took part, symbolizing their unity as a family.

Advice for Couples Planning a Wedding
Stay true to yourself, you need to do what YOU want. The background noise needs to be drowned out because it’s YOUR day not theirs.
Too many opinions, will lead to issues with the couple losing their vision.
