Erin and Ben’s wedding in Green Bay was everything a timeless, elegant celebration should be — classic, joyful, and completely rooted in the people and places that mean the most to them. With three hundred guests, ivory and taupe everywhere, tapered candles glowing across every table, and a hurricane named Erin making an appearance on the wedding day itself, this was a celebration that had personality baked into every single moment. A rainbow appeared over the Green Bay Botanical Garden for exactly the length of the ceremony and disappeared the moment it ended. Erin knows exactly who sent it.
HOW THEY MET
Erin and Ben found each other through the kind of overlapping social world that only makes sense when you look back on it. Erin is from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and Ben’s family has deep roots there as well — a family home, a shared community, and a constellation of mutual friends that somehow never quite managed to introduce them until the right moment. They now split their time between Green Bay and the U.P., and it is, by every account, the perfect balance.
THE PROPOSAL
If you know Ben, the proposal makes complete sense. He is, by Erin’s own description, a softie and a lover — and the moment he had the ring in his hands, he could not wait another day. He proposed in their garage at home, which is exactly as meaningful as it sounds. Their garage bar is where they landed after one of their very first dates, and it became the place that was most authentically theirs. After she said yes, he had already quietly organized a celebration at their best friends’ house down the road, where everyone was waiting to toast the news. Simple, personal, and perfectly them.

THE TIMELESS VISION
From the very beginning, Erin knew she wanted a wedding that would look just as beautiful in thirty years as it did the day it happened. No trends, no moments that would feel dated in a decade — just timeless elegance that held up across time. Ivory, taupe, and gold set the palette. Ivory roses filled every bouquet. Centerpieces alternated between tapered candles and floating candles down the length of every table — simple, stunning, and never once distracting from the people in the room.
Erin gathered her inspiration from Pinterest and from bridal publications including Premier Bride NE & Central Wisconsin, which she first picked up at the Stadium View Wedding Show. That magazine, she says, was a huge help in shaping the vision.
Stadium View handled day-of coordination, catering, bar service, and the reception venue itself — and their ability to manage a wedding of three hundred guests without a single moment of stress was, by Erin’s account, extraordinary.
Ruby Design Event Rentals took care of all décor setup and teardown, removing an entire category of wedding-day anxiety from the equation entirely. Roots on 9th provided florals that were classic and quietly beautiful throughout. Elite Music Service handled both ceremony music and DJ services for the reception.

WEDDING DAY LOOKS
Erin’s gown was designed by Essence of Australia and found at Tie the Knot Bridal Boutique. She tried on approximately eight dresses — surprising, she admits, for someone who considers herself picky — and when she put on the one, everyone in the room knew it at once. The tears said everything. It was absolutely stunning.
Bridesmaids wore Azazie, keeping the look cohesive and accessible. The men were outfitted through Du Bois Formalwear — simple and timeless, exactly as intended. Erin’s engagement ring came from Bay Area Diamond, and wedding bands for both came from Feldsteins.
Hair was handled by Drue Smith and Mattie Brosig, with makeup done by Finer Details LLC. Erin did a full trial run for both and highly recommends the same to every bride — knowing exactly what you will look like before the morning of the wedding is a gift to your future self.
The Ceremony
Set within the natural beauty of the Matthew Schmidt Garden at the Green Bay Botanical Garden, the ceremony was both serene and unforgettable.
And, like many great stories, it came with a twist.
The ceremony was pushed back forty-five minutes as wind and rain swept through. And then — at the exact moment the ceremony was ready to begin — the sky cleared completely. The ceremony unfolded under a pure blue sky, with a perfect rainbow arching above them. The moment it ended, the clouds returned and the rain came back down. For Erin and Ben, it was more than coincidence. It felt like something greater—like loved ones watching over them, making sure the moment was exactly right. The Green Bay Botanical Garden team navigated the weather with professionalism and grace, keeping everything on track without a moment of visible stress.
The ceremony itself was simple and heartfelt, led by a close friend Glen Erickson. The most meaningful moment of the ceremony — beyond the rainbow — came during the ring exchange. Erin and Ben brought Emersyn up to stand with them, and they presented her with a bracelet engraved with the words you are the heart of our family. It was the most perfect detail of the most perfect day.

CAPTURING THE DAY
Chelsae Grace Photography came into Erin’s world through a mutual friend — Chelsae had photographed that friend’s wedding, and meeting her in person sealed it immediately. Her aesthetic was everything Erin had dreamed of for her wedding day, and her personality made the entire experience feel effortless and genuinely fun. She meshed seamlessly with the wedding party, kept the energy light and joyful throughout the day, and captured every moment — posed and candid alike — with an eye that felt like she had known them forever.
Photo stops included Shoots Bar, where the Christmas lights delivered exactly the atmosphere Erin had imagined, and a walk over toward Lambeau Field for additional portraits. Ben’s uncle, who captures video as a personal passion, documented footage from throughout the entire day — a meaningful and personal way to preserve the memories.
One of the most cherished photo moments of the entire day happened before the ceremony even began. Ben and his daughter Emersyn shared a first look — just the two of them — before Ben and Erin saw each other. Emersyn has been in Erin’s life since she was two years old. She is six now. Their relationship is close, genuine, and deeply woven into the fabric of what this family has become. The photos from that first look are, as Erin describes them, the most adorable thing ever.
The guys got ready at The Shop in Green Bay — cornhole, darts, drinks, and a space that made the getting-ready photos something special in their own right.
THE RECEPTION
The reception at Stadium View Banquet Halls was exactly the party three hundred guests who know how to have a good time deserved. Stadium View’s recently remodeled space was stunning enough that Erin made a deliberate choice to keep the décor classic and restrained — nothing that would clash with or compete with what was already there. The result was a room that felt elegant, warm, and completely put-together.
The guest book was a vintage bright orange phone — and it was, without question, the guests’ favorite element of the entire night. Listening to the audio recordings afterward became a joy unto itself. A photo booth added to the fun, and Stadium View’s monogram and photo displays throughout the banquet hall were, as Erin describes them, the perfect finishing touch.
Dinner featured tenderloin tips, baked chicken, and mashed potatoes — food that guests are still raving about. Stadium View also made sure guests with food allergies had delicious options available, a thoughtful detail that did not go unnoticed. Late-night pizza from Stadium View kept the dance floor fueled well into the evening.
McKayla Marie Sweets provided the wedding cake, and the dessert was as beautiful as it was delicious.
Elite Music Service’s DJ kept the energy exactly right throughout the reception. Erin and Ben’s first dance was to Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls — a song that has meant something to people for a very long time, and that felt entirely right for two people who had waited for the right person before building something lasting.

LOOKING BACK
Erin describes her wedding day as timeless, elegant, and joyful — and every vendor, every detail, and every decision she made pointed directly toward those three words. Her advice for couples currently planning is straightforward and hard-earned: choose your vendors wisely. Trust the people around you, hire out what you can, and let the professionals do what they do best. The more you can release control into capable hands, the more present you get to be on the day itself. And being present, Erin will tell you, is the only thing that truly matters.
