Ellee and Cam’s wedding at The Gibson Social Club in Oshkosh was everything a joyful, personal celebration should be — relaxed, beautiful, and completely their own. With 200 guests dressed head to toe in pink, wood-fired pizza coming straight from the courtyard, and a hanging floral installation that stopped everyone in their tracks, this was a wedding that knew exactly what it wanted to be. For Ellee, who is the event coordinator at the Gibson Social Club, choosing this venue was both personal and purposeful — and the result was a day that felt effortless from start to finish.

How They Met

Some love stories take the long way around—and end up exactly where they were meant to be.
For Ellee and Cam, it all started back in middle school. Life pulled them in different directions for years, but toward the end of college, a simple invitation to a frat formal changed everything. What began as a reconnection quickly turned into something undeniable, bringing a long-forgotten crush full circle into a forever kind of love.

The Proposal

Cam pulled off the kind of proposal that feels both perfectly simple and completely unforgettable. While visiting home, he quietly coordinated with Ellee’s siblings to set up a candle and rose petal scene in the backyard — all while keeping Ellee in the dark. Her parents provided the perfect distraction, suggesting dinner and a show for the evening. When her sister brought her downstairs and opened the back door, Cam was waiting — and he got down on one knee. For Ellee, who holds her family at the center of everything, having them woven into that moment made it even more meaningful. He knew exactly what mattered most to her, and he delivered.

THE PINK VISION

If there’s one word that defines Ellee and Cam’s wedding, it’s pink. Ellee will be the first to tell you she spent most of her life avoiding the color — so the day she fell back in love with it became something of a turning point. From there, the vision came naturally. Pink florals. Pink details. And in a move that delighted guests and photographers alike, every single guest was asked to wear pink to the wedding. The result was exactly as magical as Ellee hoped — warm, cohesive, and full of life without ever feeling like too much.

The ceremony and reception both took place at the industrial-chic Gibson Social Club in downtown Oshkosh. Ellee knew it was the one the moment she walked through the door.

Cheesecloth table runners, bud vases with pink florals, and a statement hanging floral installation above the ceremony space came together to create something genuinely stunning. The installation in particular became the design centerpiece of the day — a lush, dramatic moment suspended above the space that guests couldn’t stop talking about.

They planned over 15 months with the support of family friend and day-of coordinator Cori Patrick, who helped ensure the day ran smoothly so Ellee and Cam could stay fully present with the people they love.

WEDDING DAY LOOKS

Ellee tried on close to 30 dresses total, but the first one she put on never left her mind. Her mom and dad came with her for the appointment, which made the experience especially meaningful. Her dad, in his quiet and thoughtful way, kept a note in his phone — not ranking the dresses themselves, but ranking Ellee’s smile and reaction to each one. The dress she chose earned a 9.9. He left a little room, just in case something topped it. Nothing came close!  Ellee’s dad passed away before the wedding day, making that dress appointment — and that note — so special. Knowing he had seen her in the dress, and that his reaction was captured in his own words, became a gift she didn’t fully understand until later.

Bridesmaids embraced individuality, selecting their own dresses within the pink palette. At the same time, Cam and his groomsmen opted for an unexpected and practical approach—affordable suits sourced online and tailored to fit perfectly.

In a bold and completely personal move, Ellee also chose to have her hair cut into a chic French bob the morning of the wedding—no trial, just trust.

Rings came from Bob Walsh, an individual diamond supplier out of Chicago. Cam heard about Bob through coworkers and made a proper trip out of it — driving to Chicago with two of his closest friends for a quick overnight, picking out the diamond in person, and designing the ring from scratch. It’s the kind of ring story that’s as good as the ring itself.

THE CEREMONY

Set in an intimate, semi-circle arrangement, guests surrounded Ellee and Cam with love— no matter which direction the couple turned, they were met with the faces of the people who loved them most. It was intentional, and it was everything, creating a ceremony that felt deeply personal and emotionally connected.

In a beautiful and heartfelt tribute, Ellee was escorted down the aisle by two of her late father’s closest friends—a moment filled with meaning and quiet strength. Her father’s presence was felt throughout the day, honored in both subtle and powerful ways. Canon in D — the Brooklyn Duo version — played as Ellee walked down the aisle. It’s the only song she has memorized from years of piano lessons, and she always knew it would be the one.

Adding to the ceremony’s uniqueness, both her mother and mother-in-law officiated together, blending families in a way that felt incredibly natural. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as they acknowledged loss, love, and the journey that brought everyone there..

Ellee and Cam wrote their own vows, exchanging both repeated vows they had written together and personal notes they read aloud to each other. For their unity ceremony, they potted a small plant together — a deeply fitting tribute to Ellee’s dad, who was known for the hundreds of plants he kept throughout their family home growing up. It was quiet, symbolic, and exactly right.

CAPTURING THE DAY

Meara Grace Photo was a natural fit from the start — a friend of a friend whose editing style and eye for subtle, emotional moments immediately caught Ellee’s attention. Meara had already captured their engagement shoot and a small backyard elopement, so by wedding day, there was already a trust between them. The full gallery did not disappoint.

The Reception

The reception flowed seamlessly from the ceremony, with guests staying in one beautifully connected space throughout the entire day. That continuity was intentional — Ellee and Cam loved being able to duck into a lounge for a quiet moment and then walk right back out to find their guests still gathered and celebrating around them. No shuttles, no transitions, no lost momentum. Just one long, joyful day in a space that felt like it was built for exactly this.

If there was one priority for Ellee and Cam, it was simple: great food and great drinks. Skipping tradition in favor of experience, The Wandering Table served fried baskets with four dipping sauces during cocktail hour, getting guests outside to enjoy the sunshine immediately after the ceremony. Parm brought wood-fired pizzas made on site for dinner, alongside additional options from The Wandering Table. The combination was fresh, fun, and completely memorable. Dessert followed suit with a combination of a personal cake and gelato service, offering something a little different for everyone.

The energy carried into the evening, with music, movement, and moments that felt both celebratory and deeply personal. One of the most touching came during the father-daughter dance, which Ellee shared with her two brothers—splitting the dance between them in a moment that was both emotional and incredibly meaningful.

LOOKING BACK

Ellee describes her wedding day as relaxed, joyful, and beautiful — and it reads that way in every detail. Her biggest piece of advice for couples currently in the thick of planning is to let go of the tiny things. Speaking from experience, both as someone who runs a wedding venue and as a bride herself, she knows firsthand how easy it is to spiral over details that simply will not matter once the day arrives. Trust the people you have asked to help. Give yourself grace. Stay present. The moments you will remember are not the ones you stressed over — they are the ones you were actually there for.

A Day to Be Present

Despite the thoughtful details and intentional design, what stood out most wasn’t any one element—it was the feeling.
The day unfolded exactly as Ellee and Cam had hoped: relaxed, joy-filled, and centered around connection. Supported by family and friends who stepped in every step of the way, they were able to let go of the small things and simply be present. And that, more than anything, is what made it unforgettable.
