Music Down the Aisle: I Get to Love You – Ruelle | First Dance Song: Growing Old With You- Restless Road
Jaden and Bryan met through mutual friends who set them up in 2019. However, their journey to the altar would be full of twists and turns. Jaden was just a few months past a breakup and wasn’t ready for a new relationship. Additionally, Bryan was a farmer and, having dated a farmer before, Jaden knew how hard the lifestyle could be and wasn’t sure she was ready for that again. So the two decided to start as friends. After several months of ups and downs, Bryan was ready to move on. In July 2020, Jaden decided it was finally time to move forward and give Bryan her full attention and the two started dating.
Jaden and Bryan got engaged on May 26, 2023. Between the time they started dating in 2020 and their engagement, a lot had happened. With Bryan’s support, Jaden finished her degree at Bellin College, they bought and renovated a house together and welcomed their daughter, Paisley. The day they got engaged, Bryan took Jaden out to dinner. When they returned home, Jaden picked up Paisley to put her to bed when she realized that Paisley was wearing a onesie that read,” Mommy will you marry Daddy?.” Jaden turned around to see Bryan on one knee asking her to take his last name. Having just eaten a huge dinner, all Jaden could respond was, My pants are unbuttoned, because she was so surprised by the proposal and all she could think about was her pants falling down. Jaden says “we both laughed so hard, it was so perfectly imperfect, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. It truly shows us and our relationship.”

How many dresses did you try on?
“I tried on maybe 10-15 dresses. We went to TTK (Tie The Knot) first and I was between two dresses I liked there. When I tried on ‘the dress’ that I ended up buying it was nothing that I thought I wanted! I loved it but it was too small so it was hard to picture what it would look like in the right size.” Jaden said she struggled with saying yes to the first place she went to but her dress was part of a trunk show and would only be there for one day. Nevertheless, she decided to leave and go to her second appointment of the day. But at this appointment, she just kept comparing everything to her dress. She actually cut that appointment short & called Tie The Knot back to see if they could come back in. Fortunately, they had a cancellation and Jaden was able to go back and, with the help of a different stylist, Jaden was able to envision the dress in her size and finally convince her to say “yes” to the dress.

Ceremony Details and Favorite Moments:
The ceremony took place outdoors at the Barn at Sunset Acres. Jaden says the best part of the ceremony was seeing her 18 month old daughter run down the aisle, by herself, to her daddy who scooped her up into a big hug. “I was peaking through the barn doors to watch her and I immediately started crying before the doors even opened! She definitely stole the show.”
Jaden and Bryan wanted to do something a little different as a unity ceremony instead of lighting a candle. Bryan grew up on a dairy farm and currently runs his business with his brother off the farm. So, the couple decided a branding ceremony would be appropriate. The couple had a custom “BSJ” brand made to represent Bryan and Jaden Schaumberg. During the ceremony, the branding iron sat on a fire off to the side. Together, the couple took the branding iron and branded a framed piece of wood that now hangs above their bed.

Did You Have Any DIY Projects?
“We made our photo backdrop a photo collage out of the pictures we took together over the 4 years of our relationship! We then had a friend print it off on vinyl and attached it to two large pieces of plywood to make the backdrop for our guests to stand in front of! We also made a slideshow of pictures of us individually as kids and then us as a couple.”
What Was Your Favorite Thing You Planned?
“Decorations for sure! I have a love for interior design so to be able to design the look of my own wedding was a dream come true! Everything turned out so perfect and I can thank Beth at Ruby Design for all her help. There were a few times she had to talk me off the ledge because I was so anxious about how everything would look together. She also ordered specific decorations just to match my aesthetic. I am so thankful for her and for bringing my vision to life!!”

Why did you choose your venue:
“I fell in love with it the second we walked in the door!” “The venue is absolutely STUNNING. I loved the modern look but rustic barn feel.” With an invite list of 375 people, the couple needed a venue that would be able to accommodate that many people. Jaden also says that she loved that they could have the ceremony and reception at the same place.
Reception Details and Favorite Moments:
“The reception was so fun! We had AMAZING food and awesome speeches from our favorite people!” Jaden and Bryan decided to have their guests play Plinko instead of the traditional clinking of glasses to get the couple to kiss. Guests dropped their chip on the Plinko board and might land on kiss but could also “win” a selfie with the couple or have to dance back to their seat.
Jaden decided to make Bryan “perform” in order to get the chance to take her garter off. All of the ladies lined up behind Jaden and judged Bryan’s performance. After two subpar tries, Bryan got a huge laugh when he went over to Jaden’s parents and turned her father around so he couldn’t see his third attempt. The third time was the charm and Bryan finally won the honor of removing Jaden’s garter.
The couple chose Lengendairy Cookies ‘n Creamery’s ice cream truck for dessert options! They offered his and hers signature cookie sandwiches and several custard flavors with toppings. Jaden’s signature sandwich had chocolate chip cookies with cookie dough custard. Bryan had sugar cookies with birthday cake custards. Both were a big hit with their guests. Another huge hit was the couple’s late-night snacks. They offered pizza, wings, and veggies with a ranch fountain!
1. Plan your vendors early. Vendors book up fast!
2. Set a budget and stick to it. There’s always something within your budget range though it might take a lot of looking and a little compromising.
3. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. That’s what your maid of honor and bridesmaids are for.
4. Have fun with the planning process!
