Claire & Dan met at Horseshoe Bay Golf Club in Egg Harbor, WI

How They Got Engaged

Before leaving on a boy’s golf trip, Dan invited Claire’s parents and sister to fly to Milwaukee. Following dinner one night, Dan suggested a walk around the historic Pfister Hotel, where they were staying. To assist with his proposal, Dan surprised Claire with a professional violinist on the second floor balcony serenading her one of her favorite songs, “Marry Me” by Train. To celebrate the engagement, Dan had even prepared a custom labeled bottle of Claire’s favorite champagne, Veuve Clincquot.

Welcome Party: Out-of-town guests were welcomed to Claire and Dan’s wedding celebration on Friday evening with a party on a private patio at One Barrell Brewing and food from Pizza Bros Wood Fired Pizza.

Rehearsal Dinner: The rehearsal dinner was hosted at Alpine Resort in Egg Harbor. The dinner featured heavy hors d’oeuvres, charcuterie boards, and an open bar in a private, waterfront dining room.

Ceremony Details and Favorite Moments:
Clarie and Dan held their ceremony in the well-manicured gardens of Horseshoe Bay Farms. Dan’s best friends and twin brother served as flower dudes and ushers. But the one to steal the moment was the couple’s dog, Ace, who served as the best man and who walked down the aisle with Claire’s sister who was the Matron of Honor.

Claire says that one of her favorite things about the ceremony was watching Ace walking through and greeting the entire crowd before seeing her at the end of the aisle. Ace certainly kept the ceremony lively. During the vows, he kept trying to jump up on her. This was followed by Ace rolling over for belly rubs from Dan.

Why did you choose your venue:

Claire says they chose Egg Harbor’s Kress Pavilion for their reception because of the view and the fireplace but also because of the clean, modern look and the facility’s flexibility.

Looking Back

Reception Details and Favorite Moments:
Claire and Dan had a Sunday Brunch for their reception. In addition to tons of food, guests were offered beer and wine but Claire says that one of her favorite things about the reception was a build-your-own Bloody Mary and Mimosa bars.

Claire and Dan chose “Never Stop (Wedding Version)” by Safety Suit for their first dance.

What Advice Would You Give Future Brides Planning Their Wedding?
“Do not overthink the day, stay within your budget, do not be afraid to be different and not follow trends, do not over-schedule the whole week, and leave time for yourselves to enjoy the events.”
