An intimate Tundra Lodge wedding that was filled with love.
Josh and Sara have known each other since the 7th grade and became good friends a few years into high school. However, it wasn’t until a few years after high school graduation that the two reconnected and began dating. In May 2024, the couple took a vacation to the Florida Keys. Staying at the Isla Bella Beach Resort, one evening the two decided to get dressed up and go to dinner at the resort restaurant. Ready for dinner early, they decided to check out the hammocks by the water and Josh decided he wanted to take some pictures of Sara on the pier. She reluctantly obliged. As Josh was playing the photographer, squatting down to get a good angle, he asked Sara what she thought would make their vacation even better. Not one for photos, Sara replied, “If you would stop taking picture of me!” To which Josh replied, “What if you marry me?”
Sara and Josh spent just four months planning their wedding. Sara says her motto is “less is more” and she focused on what was most important: being with their favorite people and marrying her best friend. Sara also says that planning the wedding in such a short time forced them to make decisions and just go with it; they didn’t have the time or luxury of second guessing themselves. Additionally, the short timeframe helped to naturally narrow down their options in several areas.
Sara only went to one store, Tie The Knot Bridal Boutique, to find her perfect dress. She tried on about six dresses before finding “the one”. “The one” was by Oilver Lane and Sara describes it as unique and fun with just the right amount of drama while still being elegant. And most importantly for her, it had just the right amount of train. No one saw her dress before the ceremony except her mom and Josh’s mom so she had a lot of fun doing first looks with her girls and having with a few of them guess what they thought it would look like.
Sara and Josh chose Tundra Lodge as the site for both their ceremony and reception. Sara says the stone fireplace and quaint space was just what the couple was looking for. They also loved that it included all the little things like linens, napkins, and even some décor. Plus they loved the convenience of just being able to walk down the hall from ceremony to reception. And after celebrating, they were able to just go upstairs to their room. Sara says, “Overall, what we got, for the price we paid, was MIND BLOWING!” Additionally, the couple was incredibly impressed with the staff at Tundra Lodge, especially Wedding & Social Catering Manager Laura Harbath. Sara says Laura “was such a pleasure to work with. She made planning and getting the details in order so smooth. She was extremely helpful and her communication with us was spot on. She knows what she’s doing and there was nothing missed.”
The couple wanted to keep the guest list small, just their closest friends and family. Their wedding party consisted of just four flower girls. Sara says she’s an extremely sentimental person and wanted the ceremony to reflect that and feel very authentic. The couple included a ring warming ceremony with their service. They put their rings in a bag and passed it around to family members who said a prayer or blessing over them. Sara says that having all of their loved ones bless them felt like they were really starting out their marriage right.
Josh and Sara hired Rock Rose & Co to capture their special day in pictures and Frassetto Films captured all the special moments on video. They say their photographer, videographer, and DJ all had experience working with each other and were phenomenal in their own way as well as together. The couple made a quick stop at Titletown for a few photos. The ivy wall served as a great backdrop for photos. In addition, the couple took photos, framed by the sunset, in an open field across from Tundra Lodge.

Sara wanted to make sure their wedding was personal so she added several DIY projects. She made all of the signing herself. For a guest book, the couple printed their photo on a deck of cards and had their guests sign the backs of them. Sara also made Josh’s boutonnière as well as her bouquet which included special charms that she also made. Two of the charms included photos of both of her late grandpas. The third contained her something blue, two pieces of blue shirts from both of her grandpas, which she encased in resin on the charm.
Tundra Lodge provided all of the food for the cocktail hour and dinner. Because they had their wedding on a Friday, Tundra Lodge even gave the couple a champagne punch fountain for their cocktail hour. For dinner, guests were served Chicken, tips, rolls, garlic mashed potatoes, corn, and salad. For dessert, the couple served white chocolate raspberry, cheesecake, Reese’s, and caramel Stroop waffle cupcakes from Beautifully Frosted by Becky. The couple says, “They were phenomenal both in taste and execution!” And they had an unimaginable amount of compliments. The couple even provided to-go containers which their guests loved.
Yo DJ Entertainment provided the music for the reception and had something for everyone. The couple had quite a few kids at the reception which made for some really fun dances for everyone. They also had a special polka to honor Sara’s late grandpa. During their first dance, the couple played old pictures of their family. Sara says this made the first dances with her dad and Josh’s first dance with his mom truly memories that would last a lifetime. Sara also says, “There were many tears shed and the love just radiated the whole night.”
