Our fashion shoot at Studio 1887 in Green Bay highlighted breathtaking beauty with exquisite gowns and florals!
Archer & Bliss Floral brought their “A” game with show-stopping bouquets and installations! We had the pleasure of sitting down with Kate (owner/designer) of Archer & Bliss to learn more about her contribution to the shoot.
Were there particular flowers or arrangements that felt essential to the look we were aiming for?
My main design goal was to feature unique color combinations and shapes to show future brides there are so many creative possibilities with your wedding flowers. Featured flowers included a variety of David Austin Roses, Ranunculus, Anemone, Spray Roses, Lisianthus, and Allium to name a few!
Can you describe any unique techniques or styles you used in the arrangements?
We featured the spiral technique to create multiple styles of bouquets. Although we used the same technique, we were able to create a freeform crescent shaped bouquet, an oversized organic bouquet, and a round bouquet style.
What was your process for selecting the types and colors of flowers?
We were encouraged to use our creativity and choose the colors for the featured arrangements. For this styled shoot, I wanted to feature luxurious variety and allow Bride’s to dream of the possibilities – outside of the traditional colors and shapes.
Did you have any favorite elements or blooms in this arrangement?
My favorite elements included the flowers that we can grow on our flower farm or source from other local growers – such as fluffy Lisianthus, Allium, Feverfew, Anemone, Ranunculus, Delphinium, Larkspur, Baby’s Breath, and a wide range of greenery.
Were there any unusual flowers or greenery you were excited to incorporate?
Working with Plumosa Fern in the jewel-toned bouquet was fun! Each stem of fern is unique and takes on a different shape. For the garden-style designs, I added local greenery and branches that were foraged from our farm. These elements make each design uncommon and exclusive.
How do you decide on textures and layering within an arrangement?
Each bouquet was created to showcase different shapes and evoke joy with the color choices. If I analyze the oversized organic bouquet, we featured romantic David Austin roses for their fullness, delphinium for the long linear stems, and Feverfew for their tiny delicate flowers. A bride could feel as if these stems were recently picked from a flower garden and arranged just for her!
