A heartfelt Wisconsin winter wedding brimming with love, laughter, and fond memories

How They Met

Jeanna, a proud native of Montgomery, Pennsylvania, and Evan, from Weyauwega, Wisconsin, crossed paths in the digital realm of the dating app Bumble. They spent their first date at the Neville Public Museum in Green Bay, marking the beginning of their beautiful journey together.

The Engagement

Evan orchestrated a perfect proposal at Rawley Point State Park in Two Rivers. This location held a special place in Evan’s heart, as his father had been stationed at the lighthouse during his service in the Coast Guard. Amidst a snowy hike, Evan set up a timed photo at the lighthouse’s selfie station. As the camera clicked, he knelt and proposed to Jeanna.

The Dress

Jeanna found her perfect dress at  Tie the Knot Off the Rack in Green Bay. She chose a lace gown with sheer bodice details. Sew Jackie expertly altered the dress, ensuring it fit the bride perfectly, and added personal touches.

The Ceremony

Jeanna and Evan’s wedding ceremony was a deeply intimate celebration, with 80 cherished guests in attendance. As Jeanna walked down the aisle to Claude Debussy’s “Clair de Lune,” the air was filled with a quiet elegance. Despite the recent loss of Jeanna’s mother, her presence was felt through a memory table adorned with photos and a sentimental bear made from her sweater, a gift from Jeanna’s brother. Evan’s mom recited the iconic poem “The Art of Marriage” by Wilfred Arlan Peterson.

The Photos

Paul D Manke, the couple’s wedding photographer, captured stunning images at various locations, including Hotel Northland, a nearby park, and Hinterland Brewery. The couple even received a round of applause from patrons at the brewery.

The Décor and Details

The sophisticated color palette of Jeanna and Evan’s wedding included navy blue and emerald green. Embracing a theme of quiet elegance, the wedding featured silk flowers sourced from Facebook Marketplace. The bouquets from Ling’s Moment were carefully chosen to reflect the couple’s personalities and style. The décor was beautiful and meaningful, with tributes to Jeanna’s mother prominently displayed, a touching reminder of her presence.

The Reception

The reception was a testament to Jeanna and Evan’s love for personal touches and joyful moments. A heartwarming slideshow of their childhood and relationship photos played throughout the evening, eliciting plenty of smiles and laughter. The “guestbook” phone allowed guests to leave messages, which were later compiled into an audio file by their talented DJ from Nite Lites Entertainment. A special surprise was the honorary first dance for Evan’s brother and sister-in-law, who were unable to have a large wedding due to the pandemic. The newlyweds shared their first dance to “You’re All I Need To Get By” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell, from the soundtrack of the Oscar-winning movie CODA, one of the first films they watched together. Laura Harbath, the wedding coordinator from Tundra Lodge, made the reception seamless and provided invaluable support throughout the planning process.

The Food and Drinks

Guests dined on a delightful meal at Tundra Lodge, featuring options like chicken with seasonal vegetables, portobello mushrooms, and ribeye. The cheddar mashed potatoes were a standout. Dessert included a variety of stuffed cupcakes from Monzu Bakery, and Jeanna and Evan had a small custom cake. Wine and beer flowed freely, complementing the radiant atmosphere.

The Couple’s Favorite Moments

For Jeanna, the day was filled with heart-rendering moments, from feeling her father’s emotions as he walked her
down the aisle to sharing her and her husband’s first dance. Evan loved connecting with each and every one of the guests
and appreciated the intimacy of their smaller wedding.
