Erin & Jennifer’s Green Bay Wedding

A fun, memorable, and romantic ceremony & reception.

The Engagement

Erin proposed to Jen on her birthday, January 23, 2021 – nearly two years after they first met. He popped the question on the bridge outside the Chaska Curling Center. His best friend Nick – who ended up officiating the wedding – was nearby to capture the proposal on camera. In addition to becoming engaged, Jen was even more surprised by 100 of their loved ones who came into town for the incredible surprise.

The Dress

Jen found her dream wedding dress, a glamorous gown adorned with glitter and lace, at the Wedding Shoppe in St. Paul, Minnesota. She knew it was “the one” because it simply felt right as soon as she put it on.

The Ceremony

Jen and Erin got married at the Green Bay Botanical Garden. Every element of the ceremony was personalized, from writing their own vows, to Erin’s best friend serving as the officiant, to their moms reciting messages to their son and daughter, to Erin’s uncle singing a song he also performed at his parents’ wedding. In lieu of a traditional candle lighting during the unity, the entire wedding party signed a football. Buds ‘n Bloom Design Studio in Green Bay created the stunning floral arrangements.

The Photos

Jen and Erin hired Brian Lorrigan Photography to capture their big day’s beautiful moments. The Green Bay Botanical Garden provided a beautiful backdrop for wedding portraits.  The couple loved the images from the Oneida Hotel as well. He had the great idea of having everyone meet the newlyweds on the dance floor. “We love all of the candid photos he got of our guests, kids playing, and dancing faces!” the couple shared.

The Reception

The party continued in the Three Clans Ballroom at the Oneida Hotel in Green Bay. Many of Erin’s friends and family are Green Bay Packers fans, and Jen’s friends and family are Minnesota Vikings fans, so it only made sense to have a sports-themed wedding. The DJ even played the Vikings fight song as Jen’s dad walked up to the mic for his father-of-the-bride speech. The newlyweds shared their first dance to “Mango Tree” by Zac Brown Band, the song that played when they first said “I love you” to each other.

Jen and Erin created an “outdoor” setting with potted plants and light posts to section off a game area, complete with cornhole, jumbo Jenga, a coin toss, a coloring table for the kids, and a big screen TV that played college football games all night (particularly the Notre Dame vs Ohio State matchup).

The Food and Drinks

The family-style dinner, catered by the venue, included fried chicken, beef tips, mashed potatoes, and veggies. For dessert, guests indulged in a white and chocolate sheet cake from Costco and a candy table with various treats. The couple had a custom cake made for just the two of them from Monzù Bakery in Green Bay. Jen and Erin’s reception featured a Champagne fountain and an old-fashioned fountain, which was such a big hit that extra gallons had to be made.
