Stephanie and Jason met at Gordon Lodge, a waterfront resort in Baileys Harbor, Door County, where they are both managers.
Stephanie and Jason took a trip to Las Vegas in November 2021. Stephanie is terrified of heights and, up until their vacation, refused to fly in a plane. Needless to say, they flew to Vegas, and even though she was frightened, she felt safe with Jason. Once they got to Sin City, Jason asked Stephanie if she would ride in a hot air balloon. Due to high winds, they weren’t able to go in the hot air balloon on the first day. On the second day, the guide advised them not to go too high up. Once they were in the basket, Stephanie didn’t turn around or move much, as she was gripping onto the side very tightly. When they finally landed back on the ground, Jason got down on one knee. Turns out, he was planning to propose while they were up in the air, but the basket was too small!
Stephanie found her dream wedding dress at David’s Bridal in Green Bay. It was the first and only dress she tried on! The moment she put it on, not only did it fit perfectly, but it looked absolutely gorgeous. “I keep asking Jason if we can get married again, every year, just so I can wear it over and over again,” Stephanie said.
Stephanie and Jason’s wedding ceremony was at the Tundra Lodge in Green Day, a resort with an elegant, rustic vibe. While the couple didn’t hire a wedding planner, Laura Harbath, the Social and Wedding Catering Manager at the Tundra Lodge, did an excellent job ensuring the day flowed exactly as it should.
Their officiant, Kathy Dufek, made the ceremony personal for the couple. The unity ritual was truly one of a kind — a cookie unity! All of the cookie ingredients were in different jars, and each of their five children poured a jar into a mixing bowl. Stephanie and Jason topped it all off with chocolate chips. During the sweet ceremony, Cookie Monster’s rendition of “Call Me Maybe” played.
The party continued at the Tundra Lodge for the reception. The newlyweds were seated up front in front of all their family and friends with the wedding party alongside them: their children, Jason’s brother, Stephanie’s best friend, and their general manager at the resort. The DJ played incredible tunes to which everyone danced the night away!
The Tundra Lodge catered all of the delicious food and beverages. Appetizers included meatballs, chicken wings, fruit kabobs, and ham roll ups. For dinner, guests enjoyed New York strip, queen chicken, vegetarian pasta, and chicken tenders. Their desserts consisted of a mixed candy table as well as a variety of scrumptious cupcakes from The Cupcake Couture in De Pere.
To celebrate their newly wedded bliss, Stephanie and Jason spent two weeks in Costa Rica. They jetset the next morning to enjoy a much-needed getaway.
Stephanie and Jason’s big day was filled with endless fond memories and plenty of sweet treats.
Don’t second guess or overthink anything. This is YOUR day. Have the wedding you want, and not what everyone else says.
