Courtney & Tony’s Iconic Stubborn Brothers Brewery Wedding

How They Met

Courtney and Tony met through mutual friends when she went out to celebrate her brother-in-law’s birthday. Her brother-in-law’s best friend Jon just so happened to be a good friend of Tony’s. As fate would have it Courtney and Tony were introduced to one another at the same party, and the rest is history!

The Engagement

One weekend, Courtney, Tony, and his family were visiting his sister in Oronoco, Minnesota. While everyone was taking a walk on the paths by the river, the golden eagles flying above completely mesmerized Courtney. Little did she know, Tony was trying to get her attention as her entire family was ready to capture the moment with their cameras. Tony fibbed and said he stepped in something, Courtney finally turned around to see. Instead, he got down on one knee and popped the question.

The Dress

Courtney found her dream wedding dress at Brides N’ Belles in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. She tried on about 10 dresses and had her heart set on one, but her family wasn’t sold on it. However, when she tried on “the one,” she was absolutely shocked. She and her family instantly knew it was the gown she was going to wear while walking down the aisle on the best day of her life.

The Ceremony

Both Courtney and Tony enjoy visiting breweries, so they loved the idea of getting married at a brewery. The architecture and interior design of the Crescent Ballroom at Stubborn Brothers Brewery in Shawano caught their eye, and they knew it was where they wanted to tie the knot. They were even able to brew their own beer for their wedding, which was a huge hit! Jon, Courtney’s brother-in-law’s best friend (who was there the night she and Tony met), handed cans of the couple’s beer to all of the guests before the ceremony.

The Photos

Dream Out Loud Photography based in De Pere captured all of the special moments from Courtney and Tony’s big day. The wedding party mainly stayed within walking distance of Stubborn Brothers Brewery and snapped photos in a picturesque brick alleyway, at a nearby park, around the “Greetings from Shawano” mural, and by the brewery itself.

The Reception

Courtney and Tony’s reception was also held at Stubborn Brothers Brewery in the Crescent Ballroom. Since Courtney is a dance teacher, dancing was a huge part of the reception. The main goal was for everyone to have a great time. There was an anniversary dance for all couples to see who has been married for the longest time.

The Food and Drink

The newlyweds wanted something unique and nontraditional for their reception dinner, so they chose a burger bar and fries as the main meal. After attending so many weddings where they ate the same type of food, they opted for a dish that went along with the nature of the venue. Their choice inspired the theme of their wedding – “Burgers, Brews & I Do’s.”

For a late-night snack, guests also enjoyed a pretzel bar, complete with beer cheese dipping sauce. For drinks, guests treated themselves to beer and wine from an open bar. They even served their very own beer, the Showhoff IPA, which they spent a day in the brewery helping to create. Dessert included a variety of cupcakes from Karen the Cake Lady in DeForest, Wisconsin.

Words of Wisdom from the Bride

“Don’t be afraid to ask fro help! I am not one to ask for help but there were moments when I needed to and am so appreciative of all my family and friends who stepped in.”
