What sets a wedding apart? Special, heartfelt moments, of course, but ask any guest and they’ll likely say the overall look and theme of a wedding too.
We partnered with 88 Events at Poplar Hall in Appleton for our recent fashion section.
Their vision was to bring bursts of summer color and vibrancy to the scene, and they delivered!
For 88 Events, wedding decor is about creating moments big and small that wow people. It’s in the details, thoughtful use of budget and materials, and even repurposing pieces throughout the wedding in an effort to help couples spend wisely.
Read on to hear more from 88 Events about their method for wedding decor:
“We wanted to create several little vignettes throughout the space. By bringing in things like rich bright textiles, brass finishes, and pops of color in little details like the candles we were able to give that same bright playfulness to each of the shooting locations.”
“Our approach to decor is to establish focal points—your wow moments if you will. For this shoot, it was the floral installations that could be moved throughout the space, the sweetheart’s picnic, and the stairway display. This same method works great with our couples in their venues as it allows for them to disburse their budget responsibly while still getting to have those wow moments they want.”
“We feel really strongly about realistic budgeting. Often times things on Pinterest or Instagram can come in way over budget and something we take a lot of pride in is working with our couples on how to go that next step creating something really special while still staying at a number they are comfortable with. Spending your budget in the right places and on things that matter to you is always the best way to go!”
“We wanted bright unexpected colors with an eclectic romantic feel. So many of the couples we work with are a little afraid of color so we are always looking for ways to show off how adding color to your event can really elevate the look! Commitment to a bold, robust color scheme that is not traditional is something we’ve been seeing in bigger markets for quite a while now and it is slowly starting to make its way to our area.”
“We selected bright sunshine yellows, neon pinks, and a plethora of other citrus tones for this shoot. Poplar Hall is this amazing blank slate with clean lines and a modern feel. We thought it was a great backdrop to support these vibrant colors and really give them a moment to shine.”
One of the bonuses of working with a wedding coordinator like 88 Events is that they’re already familiar with the best in the biz. In fact, they have strong relationships with vendors they particularly know and trust—which means couples can trust them too.
“Our selection of services comprises so many aspects of the event industry that we are typically involved in a couple’s day as several vendors in one. This sets us apart as we are not just a decorator or just a florist or just a planner. Having fewer vendors makes things a lot easier for our couples and allows us to have a more thorough working knowledge of the event with more oversight to make sure things go as planned and that all the details are thought of.”
