Kaiti and Mike met when one of Mike’s friends sent Kaiti a SnapChat of him taking a giant bite out of a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich. Kaiti recalls responding with “Who is that? Introduce me!” Another mutual friend also encouraged Mike to reach out to Kaiti, and the rest is history.
For Kaiti’s 29th birthday in November of 2019, Mike made her a hand-made cribbage board in the shape of “29” with the words “Happy 29th Birthday Kaiti!” engraved on the back. The following September, Kaiti and Mike were out to dinner at The Stone Cellar, where they had their first date. They were waiting for Kaiti’s friends who, unbeknownst to her, were not actually meeting them for dinner at all.
When they arrived at The Stone Cellar, Kaiti’s friend texted to say they would be late, so she and Mike went to wait at the bar. Mike asked Kaiti if she wanted to play cribbage, and the bartender went to get the board. He came back with Mike’s 29-shaped cribbage board. “Mike took the cribbage board and flipped it over, where there was a new slot engraved in the back of the board to hold the cribbage pegs and an engagement ring, with the words ‘Marry Me?’ newly engraved. Mike got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes!”
Mike and Kaiti were both raised Catholic, so they decided on a traditional Catholic wedding with a church ceremony followed by dinner and dancing. “We chose a more modern and elegant approach to our wedding ambiance, but the top priority was for everyone to have fun!”
Kaiti says that at first she was surprised how stressful the early planning stages were. “The first few weeks seem very overwhelming because you don’t know where to even begin. It’s okay, this is normal! Take things one step at a time and don’t be afraid to delegate tasks to others! The first thing that I did that really helped was to come up with a rough invite list to help narrow down our venue search to just those capable of holding our size group.”
Kaiti found her Maggie Sottero wedding gown at Ivory Rose Bridal Boutique in Appleton, Wisconsin. She says she tried on about 20 before finding the dress of her dreams. “I knew it was the one because at the end of the day, the dress I picked was the one that I kept thinking about and felt most excited about and most beautiful in. All the other dresses seemed to be a blur, but this one stood out the most to me.” As for Mike, he found his formalwear at Bridal Elegance and Formalwear in Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
The ceremony was held at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Little Chute, Wisconsin. Kaiti’s favorite part of the ceremony was sitting at the altar with Mike, looking into the church pews filled with all of their family and friends. After the ceremony, the wedding party went to Heesakker Park in Little Chute, Rose Hill Bar in Kaukauna, and Lambeau Field in Green Bay for photos. “Between the ceremony and reception, we had a gathering at Rose Hill Bar, where hors d’oeuvres and cocktails were provided for our guests.”
For their reception venue, the couple landed on Stadium View. “I really wanted to have our reception somewhere in Titletown District because there are many hotels within walking distance for our guests, and the night life would still be lively after midnight, so we could continue the celebration,” Kaiti says. “Additionally, Mike has a very large family, so we needed something big enough to support all of our guests. This significantly cut down our list of possible venues! When we went to see Stadium View’s banquet hall, we were very impressed with the layout, ambiance, atmosphere, and friendliness of the staff. We both instantly knew this was going to be our venue.”
Mike and Kaiti were very impressed with the team at Stadium View. “All of their resources, hard work, and dedication made our entire day everything we could have imagined! The staff was so accommodating, and the banquet managers, Amber and John, were exceptional to work with! We were even more amazed when the banquet managers served our head table for dinner! The venue was very up-to-date with several projectors, updated large bathrooms, and two huge bars that were well staffed, so our guests didn’t have to wait for a drink.”
Dinner and drinks were all provided by Stadium View. “Because of the number of guests we had, we were only able to do a family-style meal, but it was fantastic! We had so many compliments on how delicious and warm the food was, how fast the service was, and how quickly Stadium View was able to get food out to all of our guests.” On the menu: barbecue ribs and broasted chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, coleslaw, vegetables, and dinner rolls. Drinks were unlimited, and for dessert, there were seven flavors of cupcakes. “We also did a smaller three-tier cake for cutting, our one-year anniversary cake, and for those who simply wanted a slice rather than a cupcake.”
For photos and video, Mike and Kaiti turned to Jen Harvey Photography, Memory Poets Videography, and Photobooth NV. “Jen was just awesome! She is fun and adventurous, and quick with the camera. We absolutely loved how our engagement and wedding photos turned out. The 15 minutes right before dinner, Jen took Mike and I outside to get some photos at golden hour. It was a short period of time, just the two of us, that we could both be present in the moment, let things settle in, and just feel passionate with one another on our wedding day.”
For videography, Kaiti says Memory Poets did an outstanding job putting together their highlight video. “We were so ecstatic with the way our videos turned out, and we had so much fun reliving our wedding day as we watched it for the first time. This is something that we will cherish forever!”
