Danielle & Matt’s Joyful Wedding at the Radisson Green Bay

May 20, 2021

From One Wedding to Another

Danielle and Matt met at Matt’s cousin’s wedding. “He was there because it was a family wedding, and I was there because my mom was the Godmother of the bride,” Danielle says. Both Matt and Danielle went to UW-Stevens Point, graduated the same year, and even had some mutual friends, but they somehow never met until that wedding night.

When Matt proposed, Danielle’s parents and a number of their friends were in on it. Through some good-intentioned trickery, Danielle stopped by her parents’ house one evening to find Matt in the living room, dressed up and surrounded by candles to pop the question. “It was so perfect and such a surprise,” Danielle says. After she said yes, the happy couple met family at a local bar to celebrate over dinner. “Matt pulled it off with lots of people knowing what was going to happen—except me!”

The Ceremony

At the church ceremony, guests were required to wear masks and maintain as much distance as possible. “The church also had a live stream of the ceremony so family and friends that chose not to attend could still watch. We loved hearing people say that they watched it, and we were glad they could still be a part of it. The ceremony was so special!”

 Green Bay Wedding Photo Spots

For photos, the wedding party stopped at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay campus and Shorewood Golf Course, located on campus. “Our pictures turned out great! We had a gorgeous day with perfect weather.”

Radisson Green Bay Reception

For their wedding reception at the Radisson Green Bay, Danielle and Matt embraced a travel theme in the decor. “Matt and I love to travel and plan to continue to do so throughout our lifetime,” Danielle says. To weave travel into the day, the couple used Danielle’s grandma’s suitcase as the card box, a travel journal as the guest book, and incorporated travel quotes throughout. “Family was also emphasized with our memory table, which included wedding photos of our living and deceased grandparents, along with our parents’ wedding photos.”

Dinner and drinks were all catered by the Radisson. “The food was excellent. We had broasted chicken and beef tips. Many guests complimented the food and service. The food came out fast and hot.”

One last bit of advice from the bride

“Don’t plan for everything to be perfect!” Danielle says. “Things will not go as planned and that’s okay. During the lull of planning, get the small stuff done. Keep checking things off your list and it will help you feel less stressed as the big day creeps closer and closer. The week of the wedding, try to relax and enjoy! It’s stressful and it all happens so fast, so make sure to soak it all in and enjoy.”

Rehearsal Dinner Rosati’s Pizza of Green Bay
Ceremony Location St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Luxemburg, WI
Reception Location Radisson Hotel & Conference Center Green Bay
Cake Designer/Dessert: Festival Foods

Cupcakes from Festival Foods (2534 Steffens Ct) location in Green Bay. They were sooooo good! We did a taste testing prior which was included. We went with carrot cake/cream cheese frosting, peanut butter cup, lemon poppy seed, mint chocolate chip, and white chocolate raspberry. Highly recommend them for wedding cupcakes. I paid to have them delivered to the Radisson. Also, we were required by the Radisson to have the cupcakes in containers due to COVID and Festival put each cupcake in an individual clear circle container. Even though it’s not how I envisioned things, it worked out perfect and the cupcake display still looked nice despite all the containers haha.

Flowers: Flowers N Gifts By Judy (Debby Liebeck) in Luxemburg, WI.

She does a phenomenal job and at a great value. She made my vision come true!

Music/Entertainment: Nite Lights Entertainment (De Pere, WI)
Transportation:

After Midnight Party Bus LLC
Photography Amenson Studio

Marc and his team were the best! Highly recommend. He helped make the day fun and he does great work. He had two people taking photos and one person as the videographer. Our guests said they felt my photographers were everywhere.

PhotoBooth

It was a highlight of the reception. We had the Social photo booth and the guests had a blast. They could create a GIF, use filters, props, backgrounds all using a touch screen. Guests could then email or text the pictures to whoever they’d like. Matt and I then got all the photos sent to us in a gallery that we could save as a remembrance. We laughed so hard looking back at all the photos and GIFS. We originally wanted the old school style photo booth, but due to COVID and keeping all props and objects clean they discontinued it and only the Social photo booth was available and we are so glad we went with it.
