Cortney was a senior in high school when she met Brian, who was about to be a sophomore in college. The two were together for seven years and got married on their seven-year anniversary, in October of 2017. When he proposed, Brian surprised Cortney with a whole weekend of festivities: pumpkin picking and carving, a trip to the DeYoung Zoo in Michigan, and a late afternoon walk in Lake Noquebay Park, where Cortney grew up as a member of the Crivitz Ski Cats for a number of years. At the lake, Brian got down on one knee and popped the question.
After attending the Winter Edition Wedding Show in Green Bay, the happy couple planned an elegant black and white wedding with a ceremony at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church and a reception at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center, both in Green Bay. Brian and Cortney agree that their favorite part of the ceremony was first walking into the church and setting eyes on each other, Brian in his suit from DuBois Formalwear and Cortney in her gorgeous gown from Tie the Knot Bridal Boutique. “We’ll never forget how we felt walking down the aisle only looking at each other. We felt like the only two people in the room.”
Cortney says she has many favorite parts of the reception, the first being the moment she and Brian walked into the room at the Radisson and seeing how beautiful everything looked. “I imagined having my wedding reception at the Radisson ever since I was a little girl. This location was everything I expected and more. Everyone was wonderful to work with and made sure everything went according to plan. The room was set up perfectly, and the staff and service were amazing.”
“The flowers, centerpieces, lighting, champagne fountain, and card table all looked extravagant and more than I ever dreamed of. We didn’t even do any DIY projects because our vendors were so incredible, they made the day more beautiful than I ever could have.”
The Radisson also catered a scrumptious family-style dinner, which the bride and groom received many compliments on throughout the evening. Dinner included broasted chicken, sirloin tips, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, vegetables, and assorted dessert bars. “We also served cake, which had two separate flavors: vanilla creme brulée and chocolate creme brulée. Later in the evening, we served pizza. We had a champagne fountain and served complimentary beer, wine, and soda all night to our guests.”
Another highlight of the night for Brian and Cortney was their Packers-themed Grand March. “We walked out to ‘Bang the Drum All Day,’ a classic played at Lambeau Field. We loved getting to have fun with our wedding party!” Cortney says she also enjoyed just soaking in the scene: “I loved getting to share in the memories with my new husband and watch the slideshow of our lives growing up. My final favorite of the day was getting to look around at all of our guests having fun and feeling so blessed that they chose to share this day with us.”
