Morgan from Ashwaubenon and Michael from West De Pere met through mutual friends and knew each other for years before they finally got together. Michael proposed in February of 2016 at the Union Hotel in East De Pere. “Michael gave me a tour of the place, because the hostess said it would be a while before we’d be seated,” Morgan says. As they peered into one of the upstairs rooms, Morgan found a bouquet of roses and a ring waiting — “that’s when Michael got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.”
When the couple went back downstairs for their dinner reservation, Morgan was surprised to find her and Michael’s families seated around the table. “They helped us celebrate the wonderful news!” Then it was off to Nicky’s for drinks, where Michael and Morgan’s friends were waiting to toast the happy couple. “It couldn’t have been more perfect,” Morgan says.
Michael and Morgan planned an elegant wedding, with a church ceremony and a reception at the Swan Club in De Pere. Morgan found her Allure Bridal gown at Elaine’s Bridal in Green Bay, while Michael and his groomsmen sported grey suits from DuBois. The bridesmaids wore nude-colored dresses to coordinate with the soft table linens and centerpieces of white, pink, and blush-colored flowers.
The ceremony was held at Morgan and Michael’s church, Our Lady of Lourdes in De Pere. “It’s a beautiful church and Father Neilson was our officiant. What made it so special and unique was his homily. Father Neilson really spoke from the heart and said such wonderful things.” Having their ceremony on a Friday afternoon at 2pm, the bride and groom were thrilled that so many of their friends and family were able to make it: “We even took a huge group photo from up above with all of our guests!”
Dinner and drinks were catered by the Swan Club. “We had an Old Fashioned fountain during cocktail hour, which as a hit. We also had free beer for guests to enjoy throughout the night, plus two open bars for them to enjoy their favorite cocktail.” A delicious chicken dinner was served family style with scrumptious cream-puff kneecaps as a sweet addition to the spread.
At the end of the day, Morgan says the moments that stick with her the most are those first few spent with both her dad and her new husband. “When I walked outside of the room where the girls and I got ready, I met my father by the doors before we walked down the aisle together. We shared a moment that we will both cherish forever, crying and hugging. When Michael and I finally got to see each other in church, we couldn’t stop smiling at each other. He gave me that look that said he’d love me forever.”

Invitations~ Created by my best friend and cousin, Lana Tomashek. She also created my Save the Dates. She did an amazing job! Besides having her stand up as one of my bridesmaids, I really wanted to include her in the planning. Being so artistic and as well as a graphic designer, I knew she would do a wonderful job on them.
Rehearsal Dinner~It was at Michael’s parents home. His mother, family, and friends hosted a wonderful dinner for us to enjoy before the big day! I loved the fact we were all together under one roof with the people who meant the most.
