Who doesn’t want to be surrounded by beautiful flowers on their wedding day? We certainly do at Premier Bride! Incorporating flowers into your wedding is a fantastic way to add color, style and vision to your big day. Flowers don’t have to add huge costs to your budget; there are great ways to save money! How, you might ask? It is all about selecting the right type of flowers and repurposing them in any way possible!
First: Select your flowers. Have you thought about your color scheme? The majority of flowers come in an array of colors. If you are truly looking to cut costs, start by incorporating greens into your arrangements. Bare Grass, Lily Grass, Pittosporum, Seeded Eucalyptus and Silver Dollar are all great options! Make your arrangements pop by incorporating color with these “bang for your buck” flowers; Alstroemeria, Carnation, Chrysanthemum, Lily, Stock Flower and White Hydrangea! If you have your heart set on including blues into your flower arrangements then consider substituting gems, feathers, or ribbon, as blue flowers are more expensive and in high demand!
Second: Contact your florist. This may sound crazy but your florist is actually going to help you save money! Florists are pros at repurposing flowers and have the means to do so. Your arrangements should serve multiple purposes. The most effective way to do this is to allow your ceremony flowers to double as your centerpieces at your reception. This may sound like a lot of work, but let’s be honest…this is why you have bridesmaids! The good news is; in most cases the transfer of arrangements is as simple as placing a pre-existing arrangement into a new vase or container! Always check with your florist before purchasing your centerpiece décor, odds are they will have what you are looking for and help save you a fortune!
Another great way to repurpose your wedding flowers is to turn your bridesmaid’s bouquet into an elegant wedding gift. Invest in personalized flower vases to use as place holders for your bridal party! Not only do these vases serve as a great memento and wedding gift but also a fantastic place for your bridesmaids to leave their bouquets when they hit the dance floor!
Regardless of how you decided to repurpose your wedding flowers, they should never go to waste! Flowers are the perfect way to brighten up someone’s day; whether you give them to your guests or have them donated to a local hospital or charity. Just remember, repurposing flowers for your big day can save you money while adding color, style and vision!
