Normally held the day after the wedding ceremony in a small banquet/meeting room at the hotel, a gift opening consists of the bride and groom opening gifts they received with family and close friends in attendance; brunch or other food options are often provided. Wedding guests of older generations may assume that such an event is going to happen so regardless of your plans communicate what is happening to all party members. Though not as popular as in previous decades, a gift opening is a great way to celebrate with family and close friends one last time before the wedding weekend draws to a close.
