The Latin “Carpe Diem” roughly translates to “Seize the Day.” When it comes to your big day, that’s the goal for most brides- and grooms-to-be: you want the day you get hitched, as it were, to go off without a hitch. You also want an event that symbolizes the culmination of your love and commitment to each other.
No one understands that more than Peggy George, co-owner of Seize The Day, a Green Bay business that provides event planning, coordinating and decorating services for weddings and other special events. Seize The Day’s business model is simply this: “We’re here to handle all the details for you so you can relax and enjoy your special day.” Its tagline — Rental Supplies, Visionary Planning (RSVP) — perfectly expresses how that’s accomplished.
Each couple is different, she points out, which is why she and her business partners, daughters Katie Hess and Becky George, offer a tiered level of offerings.
The all-inclusive event planning package is for those who would like assistance throughout the entire planning process. Step-by-step event planning helps you select a theme or style; then they recommend appropriate vendors that complement your preferences, and more.
“Together we’ll plan every detail from setting a budget to designing gift baskets for out of town guests,” she says. “When the day arrives, your day will come together as a complete reflection of your style.”
The planning day-of-service package is for the bride who wants an expert at her side while visiting vendors. “We’ll plan the day in advance, scheduling appointments as needed. The day will begin with a review of the day’s schedule and conclude with a wrap-up meeting at the end of all scheduled appointments,” George says.
Seize The Day has got you covered in terms of coordination, too. “We’ll take care of the details and coordinate everything. We’ll create a timeline that covers every aspect of the day and then we get the bride and groom to sign off on it,” George says. “Then we send a timeline to all the vendors with their section highlighted and they know where they belong in the day. No one misunderstands anything. If the couple and the vendors have one go-to person, it’s much easier for everyone.”
Finally, Seize The Day provides expert, professional decorating services. A visit to the design studio at 1541 Bellevue St., Green Bay, will give you an idea of all the possibilities at your disposal. “A lot of people are visual learners, so it’s perfect for anyone who wants to see all of the options,” she says.
Initial consultations are free of charge. For more information on how to seize your day, visit the Seize the Day web site or call (920) 593-2959.
